Chap. 90.—An ACT to compensate B. F. Bland and T. J. Christian for
legal services rendered the Commonwealth.
Approved February 8, 1884.
Whereas B. F. Bland and Thomas J. Christian, attorneys-
at-law, were employed by his excellency, William KE. Cameron,
governor of the commonwealth, to conduct prosecutions in
the county of Mathews against a large number of persons for
criminal violations of the oyster law of the state; and whereas
the contingent fund became exhausted so that the governor
could not make proper compensation to the gentlemen above
named for the services rendered by them in this behalf;
therefore,
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the anditor of public accounts be and he is hereby uuthorized
and directed to draw his warrant upon the treasury. in favor
of B. F. Bland and Thomas J. Christian, for the sum of two
hundred and fifty dollars each, payable out of any money in
the treasury not otherwise appropriated, in full payment for
the services above recited.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
