Chap. 53.—An ACT to incorporate The Richmond Union Depot Com-
pany.
In force January 28, 1884,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Williams C. Wickham, A. 8. Buford, J. P. Brinton, Frederick
R. Scott, P. A. Wellford, Decatur Axtell, Isaac Davenport,
Junior, A. L. Ellett, S. M. Rosenbaum, Joseph R. Anderson,
Thomas W. McCance, James B. Pace, E. A. Saunders, Francis
T. Willis, Moses Millhiser, Isaac H. Carrington, J. B. Wins-
ton, and K. T. D. Myers, and such others as they may asso-
ciate with them, are hereby constituted a corporation, under
the name of The Richmond Union Depot Company, and as
such corporation shall have power to construct a railroad
depot in the city of Richmond, and the approaches thereto,
and to maintain and use the same, and to rent or lease the
same, or any part thereof, and said company shall have all
the rights and privileges, and be subject to all the regulations
and restrictions, prescribed by chapters fifty-six, fifty-seven,
and sixty-one of the Code of Virginia, except as hereinafter
provided.
2. Any incorporated company may subscribe to, acquire
and hold stock in said company.
3. The capital stock of said company shall be not less than
one hundred thousand dollars, nor more than one million dol-
lars, and shall be divided into shares of one hundred dollars
each, and each share of stock shall be entitled to one vote in
all meetings of the company.
4. Said company may borrow money for the purpose of
aiding in the construction of its works, and for this purpose
may execute a deed of trust or mortgage on all its works,
property, and franchises, and in case of sale under said deed of
trust or mortgage, and conveyance of all such works, property,
and franchises, the purchaser or purchasers, shall take the same
with all the rights, privileges,'and powers set forth and _ pre-
scribed in sections forty-four and forty-five of chapter sixty-
one of the Code of Virginia, which sections shall fully apply
to said company.
o. Any railroad now in operation or hereafter to be con-
structed, leading into the city of Richmond, shall have the
right to use said depot upon equal terms with any other road
using said depot.
6. This act shall be in force from its passage.
