Chap. 522.—An ACT for the protection of the commonwealth in the
purchase and sale of bonds made under the act approved March 15,
1884.

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the commissioners of the sinking fund be and they are hereby
directed to convert into registered bonds of the common-
wealth, issued under the act approved February fourteenth,
eighteen hundred and eighty-two, immediately upon any pur-
chase made by them of coupon bonds issued under said act,
in pursuance of an act approved March fifteenth, eighteen
hundred and eighty-four, entitled an act appropriating the
public revenues for the fiscal years eighteen hundred and
eighty-four and eighteen hundred and cighty-five.
2. The commissioners of the sinking fund shall have au-
thority, for the purpose of making sale of such registered
bonds, and for that purpose only, if they deem it best for the
interest of the commonwealth to re-convert such registered
bonds into coupon bonds issued under the said act of the
fourteenth of February, cighteen hundred and cighty-two.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
