Chap. 521.—An ACT for the relief of the surcties of Z. T. Cecil, late
treasurer of Lee county.
Approved March 18, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and direc-
ted to accept from the sureties of Z. T. Cecil, late treasurer
of Lee county, or any of them, in the bonds of the state,
with all unpaid coupons attached, issued under the act ap-
proved February fourteen, eighteen hundred and eighty-two,
entitled an act to ascertain and declare Virginia’s equitable
share of the debt, and so forth, to the amount of the balance
now due by them, computing the interest thereon at a rate
of six per centum per annum, by reason of the default of the
said Z. T. Cecil: provided the said bonds shall be paid to the
treasurer within one year after the passage of this act. Noth-
ing herein contained shall be construed as releasing said Z. T.
Cecil from his liability for the difference between the amount
due by him and the market value of the bonds so received.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
