Chap. 431.—An ACT for the relief of Mrs. Kate O. Haden, of Flu-
vanna, and Miss Ella A. Earman.
Approved March 15, 1884.
Whereas Mistress Kate O. Haden and Miss Ella A. Kar-
man, did in the years of cighteen hundred and eighty-one—
two, teach a public free school in Stonewall district and Cen-
tral district, respectively in the county of Rockingham, Vir-
ginia, under a contract with the board of school trustees of
said districts, for the agreed salary of twenty-five dollars per
month, and whereas owing to an informality in said con-
tracts, the board of trustees of said township could not issue
warrants for the salary due them; theretore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of school trustees, for Stonewall district and Cen-
tral district, in the county of Rockingham, be and they are
hereby respectively authorized in their discretion, to pay to
the said Kate O. Haden and Miss Ella A. Karman, the
amounts justly due them as such teachers, not exceeding the
sum of twenty-five dollars per month for the time taught,
and to issue warrants for the same to them.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
