Chap. 383.—An ACT to confirm the organization of the Washington,
Ohio and Western Railroad Company, and declaring such company
vested with the powers and franchises possessed by the Washington
and Ohio Railroad Company.
Approved March 10, 1884.
1. Beit enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
the organization of the Washington. Ohio and Western rail-
road company, created and organized under a sale and con-
veyance of all the works, property and franchises of the
Washington and Ohio railroad company, is hereby approved,
ratified and confirmed, and it shall and may be lawful for the
said Washington, Ohio and Western railroad company to ex-
tend its road within and beyond the limits of this state, to in-
crease its capital stock, to borrow money and make traffic
arrangements to the same extent, for the same purposes and
in the same manner as the Washington and Ohio railroad
company was authorized so to do, and otherwise to have and
exercise all the powers and franchises which were possessed
by the Washington and Ohio railroad company, and which
hereby are declared to be vested in the said Washington,
Ohio and Western railroad company; which last company
shall be subject to all the conditions imposed upon said Wash-
ington and Ohio railroad company, and also to all the liabili-
ties imposed by the terms of said sale.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
