Chap. 36.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to
incorporate the Southwest Virginia Improvement Company.
In force January 28, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section twelfth of an act “approved March ninth, eighteen
hundred and eighty, entitled an act to incorporate the South-
west. Virginia improvement company, be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
$12. The annual meeting of the stockholders of the said
comayunary shall be held at the New River depot in Pulaski
county. Virginia, or at such other place in Virginia, on the
first Wednesday in August of each year, or on auch other day
as the stockholders may, by resolution adopted in any annual
or special meeting prescribe, A general meeting of the
stockholders of said company may be held at any time as
provided tor by the tenth section of chapter fifty-seven of the
Code of Virginia, edition of eighteen hundred and seventy-
three.
2. That it shall be lawful for the said company to guar-
antee the interest or the principal and interest of the bonds
of any mining or manufacturing company of the state or any
adjoining state, as well as to acquire and hold shares of the
capital stock of any such corporation.
3. That the sixteenth section of the act approved March
ninth, eighteen hundred and eighty, entitled an act to incor-
porate the Southwest Virginia improvement company, be and
the same is hereby repealed.
