Chap. 344.—An ACT authorizing the Sulphur Mines Company of Vir-
ginia, to construct railways for the transportation of ores, etc., same
not to exceed forty miles in length.

Whereas the Sulphur Mines company of Virginia, char-
tered in pursuance to the laws of the state, by decree of the
circuit court of the city of Richmond, entered April the first,
eighteen hundred and cighty-two, in the petition theretor of
William G. Crenshaw and others, desires the privilege ot
connecting their mines by railroads, with other railroad
highways of this state, as a necessity to the mining and
transportation of their ores, minerals, and so forth, te mar-
kets; wherefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the said Sulphur Mines company of Virginia, “shall have
authority and power to construct railro: 1ds—none of which
to exceed forty miles in length, or to be located elsewhere
than in the counties of Louisa, Spotsylvania and Orange.
connecting its mines and works on any or all of its lands,
with any other railroads or works of internal transportation,
and to operate and maintain the same; and to this end and
purpose, may cause the condemnation of all necessary lands,
and shall have all of the other rights, privileges, and powers
conferred by the laws of the state, on such enterprises, but
subject to the conditions and limitations imposed by said
laws of the state.
2. This act shall bo in force from its passage.
