Chap. 283.—An ACT to ratify and confirm Leases by or to the Wash-
ington City, Virginia Midland and Great Southern railroad com-
any, or the companies which composed it, and to authorize the
irginia Midland railway company to renew such Leases.
Approved March 4, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
allleases made by or to the Washington City, Virginia Mid-
land and Great Southern railroad company, or any of the
railroad companies, by the consolidation of which said com-
pany was created, be ratified and confirmed, and authority
is given to the Virginia Midland railway company, the
successor, by purchase, of said Washington City, Virginia
Midland and Great Southern railroad company, to renew
such leases: provided however, that in addition to necessary
freight trains, at least one passenger train each way shall be
run daily (Sundays excepted) over that portion of the Wash-
ington City, Virginia Midland and Great Southern railway
lying between Strasburg, in Shenandoah county, and the
main line of said Virginia Midland railway.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
