Chap. 23.--An ACT to provide for the compensation of the Judge of
the Chancery Court of Richmond, and for the expenses of said court.
Approved January 18, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the salary provided by law for judge of the chancery court of
the city of Richmond, except so much as may be added
thereto by ordinance or resolution of the council of the said
city, shall bea charge upon the public treasury in the same
manner as the walary of the circuit judves of the state.
2. That the auditor of public accounts shall include in the
account required by law of the contingent expenses of the
circuit courts of the commonwealth, an account of the con-
tingent expenses of the chancery court of the city of Rich-
mond, and place therein the same allowances as are made on
account of circult courts, and issue his Warrants for such
allowances in the same manner, and under the same restric-
tions as are provided by law in the case of circuit Courts.
3. This act shall be in force from the first day of January,
eighteen hundred and eighty-four, and all acts and parts of
acts, to the extent that they are inconsistent with this act,
are hereby repealed.
