Chap. 21.—An ACT to incorporate Supreme Fountain Grand United
Order of True Reformers.
Approved January 18, 1884.
Whereas there has existed for some time past in the city
of Richmond, an association of persons known as Supreme
Fountain Grand United Order of True Reformers, the pur-
poses and objects of which are solely benevolent and chari-
table, and to enable said association to more effectually carry
out the purposes of their organization, an act of incorpora-
tion is desired; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
J. W. Williams, B. T. Morton, M. M. Lee, 5. D. Vaughn, Har-
net Watkins, and such other persons as are now or may here-
atter become members of the association, be, and they are
hereby made a body politic and corporate, by the name and
stvle of Supreme Fountain Grand United Order of True
Retormers, and by that name may sue and be sued, plead and
be iinpleaded in all the courts of the commonwealth.
2. The object of this corporation shall be to take care of
its sick and destitute members, to bury its dead, to support
the widows and orphan children of Weceased members, to
encourage and promote good morals and knowledge among
its members and their families, and such other benevolent
objects as the corporation may deen fit and proper to pro-
mote the interests of its members. The said corporation may
take and hold so much real estate and personal property as
may be suitable for its objects, not to exceed in value, twenty
thousand dollars.
3. The chief place of business of said corporation shall be
in the city of Richmond, and it may make such by-laws, rules,
and regulations consistent with the laws of this state and
the United States, ax it may deem proper, for the government
of its members, the management of its affairs, and for the use,
enjovment and control of its property.
