Chap. 91.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to
incorporate the Farmville and Staunton river railroad company, ap-
proved March sixth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two.
Approved April 21, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section six
of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Farmville and
Staunton river railroad company, approved Marcb sixth,
eighteen hundred and eighty-two, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows: .
§ 6. The town of Farmville is hereby authorized, in the
manner and under the rules and regulations prescribed by
law, to subscribe for not more than one hundred thousand
dollars of the capital stock of the said company, and any
county or incorporated town along the line of this railroad,
or at any terminal point thereof, or along its branch, lateral
and connecting lines, or at their terminal points, is hereby
authorized in the manner and under the rules and regulations
prescribed by law, to subscribe to the capital stock of said
company. And to thisend it shall be the duty of the county
court of any such county, and of the council of the town of
Farmville, in their discretion, to cause a vote of the qualified
voters to be taken in the manner prescribed by law, and to
issue bonds in such form, running for such lengths of time,
and bearing such rates of interest, not exceeding six per
centum per annum, and in such sums and payable at such
periods and places, as such courts or town councils may de-
termine.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
