Chap. 60.—An ACT to refund to Silas J. Lawson, of Halifax, a
license tax paid by him.
Approved February 4, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and
directed to issue his warrant on the treasurer in favor of
Silas J. Lawson, of Halifax county, for the sum of fifteen
dollars and sixty cents, being the amount paid by him on a
license as a bar-room and retail liquor dealer (which privilege
was never exercised by him), payable out of any money in
the treasury not otherwise appropriated: provided, however,
that the auditor of public accounts shall not issue his war-
rants until the county court of said county shall certify that
the said Lawson never exercised or derived any benefit from
the privilege conferred on him by the said license.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
Chap. 60.—An ACT authorizing the Norfolk and Portsmouth Termi-
nal Railway, Wharf, and Warehouse company, to change its name
to the Consolidated Southern Railway company.
Approved April 18, 1882.
1.. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the Norfolk and Portsmouth terminal railway, wharf, and
warehouse company, can, by consent of a majority of its
stockholders, in any general or special meeting, change its
name to the Consolidated Southern railway company.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
