Chap. 190.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 81 of chapter
188, Code of 1873, in relation to the return upon writs of fleri facias.
Approved March 1, 1882.
1. Be it enacted by tho gencral assembly of Virginia, That
section thirty-one of chapter one hundred and eighty-three
of the Code of Virginia, edition of cighteen hundred and
seventy-three, be and the same is hereby amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
§31. Upon a writ of fieri facias, the officer shall return,
whether the money thercin mentioned is or cannot be made;
or, it there be only part thercof which is or cannot be made,
he shall return the amount of such part. With every exccu-
tion under which money is recovered, he shall return a state-
ment of the rmount reccived, including his fees and other
charges; and . :.ch amount, except the said fees and charges,
he shall pay to the person entitled; and in his return, upon
every such execution, the officer shall state whether or not
he made a levy of the same, and the date of such levy, and
the date when he received such payment or obtained such
satisfaction upon the said exccution, and if there be more
than one defendant, from. which defendant he received the
same.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
