Chap. 172.—An ACT for the relief of Eliza Callis from an erroneous
assessment.

Approved March 7, 1878.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the auditor
of public accounts is hereby authorized and directed to issue
his warrant in favor of Eliza Callis, for sixty-two dollars and
fifty cents, payable out of any money in the treasury not
Otherwise appropriated, the same being the amount of erro-
neous assessment against her for the years eighteen hundred
and seventy-one, eighteen hundred and seventy-two, eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-three, eighteen hundred and sev-
enty- four, and eighteen hundred and seventy-five, by the
commissioner of the revenue for the city of Norfolk: pro-
vided that the auditor shall not issue his warrant until the
corporation court of the city of Norfolk shall certify that
the said assessment was erroneous.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
