Chap. 104.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 23, chapter 13,
Code of 1873, as amended by an act, approved February 12, 1876, in
reference to allowing commissions to general agent and storekeeper
of penitentiary.

1. Be it enactcd by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section twenty-three of chapter thirteen, Code of eighteen
hundred and seventy-three, as amended by an act approved
February twelfth, cizhteen hundred seventy-six, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 23. The general agent and storekeeper shall be allowed
& commission of five per centum on all sales, other than at
auction, made by him. He shall receive on sales at auction,
ordered by the board of directors, a commission of only two
aud one half per centum, and on manufactures for clothing
the convicts, and jobs and labor for the use of the common-
wealth, be shall be allowed no commission.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
