Chap. 87.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4 of chapter 104 of
the Code of 18738, to reduce Bonds of Ministers of the Gospel.

Approved February 13, 1877.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section four
of chapter one hundred and four of the Code of eighteen
hundred and seventy-three, be amended and re-enacted so
as to read as follows: . ‘

§ 4. When a minister of any religious denomination shall,
before the court of any county or corporation in this state,
produce proof of his ordination, and of his being in regular
communion with the religious society of which he is reputed
a member, and give bond in the penalty of five hundred dol-
lars, such court may make an order authorizing him to cele-
brate the rites of marriage.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
