Chap. 50.—An ACT conferring on policemen of Alexandria city
certain powers of constables.
Approved February 6, 1377.
1.. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the policemen of the city of Alexandria, from time to time
appointed or elected, and qualified according to law, shall,
during their continuance in office, in addition to their powers
under the ordinances of said city, have and exercise within
the limits of said city, all power and authority which is pos-
sessed or can be exercised by a constable in said city, except
they shall not execute any civil process.
2. This act shall be in force-from its passage.
