Chap. 307.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of the Lutheran church
and congregation at Staunton, to execute a deed of trust upon their
parsonage.
Approved April 2, 1877.
Whereas it is represented that the Lutheran church and
congregation at Staunton, for the purpose of suitably re-
pairing their house of worship, have contracted a debt for
money borrowed, and that they are desirous of securing the
same; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
lawful for the legally constituted trustees of said church and
congregation, or their successors, to execute a deed of trust
upon the house now owned and used by them as a parsonage,
and the lot on which it is erected, for the purpose of securing
any debts heretofore contracted for money borrowed for the
purpose of suitably repairing their house of worship; which
deed shall be subject to the provisions of chapter one hun-
dred and thirteen of the Code of Virginia, edition of eighteen
hundred and seventy-three, except as may be therein other-
wise provided, and shall be as effectual as if executed by an
individual.
2. This act shall be in force from and after its passage.
