Chap. 303.—An ACT appropriating sixteen thousand two hundred and
fifty dollars to the Virginia agricultural and mechanical college.

Approved April 2, 1877.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the sum of sixteen thousand two hundred and fifty dollars
be and is hereby appropriated to the Virginia agricultural
and mechanical college at Blacksburg, to be expended under
the direction of the board of visitors of said college, in en-
larging quarters for students, furnishing the new college
buildings, increasing the apparatus in the various depart-
ments ef science, providing a suitable supply of water for
the college buildings, enlarging and properly equipping the
shop of the mechanical department, and for such other uses
as said board of visitors may direct.

2. This appropriation shall be paid out of any money in
the treasury not otherwise appropriated, one-third in July,
eighteen hnndred and seventy-seven; one-third in January,
eighteen hundred and seventy-eight; and the remainder in
July, eighteen hundred and seventy-eight.

3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
