Chap. 286.—An ACT to amend the charter of the town of Goodson,
with regard to the town sergeant.
Approved April 2, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section six
of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act enti-
tled an act to incorporate the town of Goodson, in the county
of Washington, approved June seventeenth, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:
§ 6. The sergeant of said town shall execute, before the
town council, a bond, with conditions such as constables are
required by law to enter into, a copy of which shall be cer-
tified to the county court of Washington county for record.
He shall have authority and power to execute any and all
process within the said county that may be executed by a
sheriff or constable, and shall and may do and perform all
acts, and execute and return all warrants, and be liable in
the same manner, and to the same extent, that constables are
liable to by the laws of the commonwealth.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
