Chap. 251.—An ACT to authorize Witham, Gladden, and Jarman, to
erect a wharf on their lund on Messongo creek, in the county of Ac-
comack,
Approved March 29, 1877.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly, That James Wit-
ham, William C. Gladden, and Hillary B. Jarman, a firm tra-
ding and doing business under the name and style of Wit-
ham, Gladden and Jarman, be and they are hereby authorized
to erect a wharf on their lands on Messongo creek, Accomack
county; and that said parties, their heirs or assigns, shall
have the right to charge and recover such fees, as a compen-
sation for the use of said wharf, as may have been agreed
upon by and between the parties for the same or similar use:
provided that said wharf shall not obstruct or impair the free
navigation of said creek: and provided also, that this act
shall at all times be under the control of the general assem-
bly, and may be amended or repealed, as they may deem
proper.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
