1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section
four of the act approved March twenty-fifth, eighteen hun.
dred and seventy-five, entitled an act to provide for the ap-
pointment of fish commissioners for the state of Virginia, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows: .
§ 4. It shall be the duty of said commissioners to appoint
agents, residing at convenient localities, near each of the
rivers in this commonwealth, to aid them in the distribution
of the ova, the hatcbing of the same, and protection of the
small fish: provided that the said agents shall receive no
compensation for their services. And in the appointments
of said agents, and in the distribution of ova and small fish.
it shall be the duty of said commissioners to have due regard
to all sections of the commonwealth, and to the several coun-
ties thereof; and the small fish and ova shall be placed in
the streams above the natural obstructions to said streams
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
