Chap. 223.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of the Presbyterian
church at Portsmouth, Virginia, to borrow money, and to secure the
payment of the same. /
Approved March 29, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
tho trustees of the Presbyterian church at Portsmouth, Vir-
ginia, be and they are hereby authorized, for the purpose of
rebuilding their church io said city, to borrow, from time to
time, a sum or sums of money, not to exceed in the aggre-
gate the sum of five thousand dollars, and at a rate of in-
terest not to exceed eight per centum per annum; that for
the said sum or sums of money, the said trustees are hereby
authorized to issue bonds, and secure the same by executing
a deed of trust, conveying all the property, real and personal,
held by them for said church.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
