Chap. 219.—An ACT to authorize the county of Nottoway, Virginia,
to borrow money and issue bonds therefor.
Approved March 29, 1877.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the board of supervisors of the county of Nottoway be, and
they are hereby authorized to borrow a sum of money not to
exceed in the aggregate the sum of five thousand dollars, and
ata rate of interest not to exceed eight per centum per an-
num. The money so borrowed to be used exclusively in the
purchase of suitable real estate for the purpose of enlarging
and improving the accommodations of the property known
a3 the poor-house property of said county.
2. That for the money so borrowed, the board of supervi-
sors be and they are hereby authorized to execute and issue
« bond or bonds in the name of the county of Nottoway, to
be signed by the clerk of the board of supervisors, payable
two years after date, and when so signed, binding the county
of Nottoway to the payment thereof: provided however that
the authority to borrow said money, and to issue said bond
or bonds, shall not extend beyond the first day of July eigh-
teen hundred and seventy-seven, nor shall the money be
borrowed or the bonds be issued at all, until the object con-
templated by the board shall have been approved by the
county court of said county, and such approval entered of
record.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
