Chap. 109.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5 of chapter 8 of
the Code of 1873, with regard to Election Districts.
Approved February 26, 1877.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section five
of chapter eight of the Code of eighteen hundred and seventy-
three, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 5. That in each magisterial district in each county in
this state, in which more than one voting place shall have
been established by law, it shall be the duty of the county
court, by order entered of record, to designate by proper and
well-defined boundaries, the election district of each voting
place in the said magisterial district; and upon the petition
cf twenty qualified voters of any magisterial district, the
q@unty court may, in its discretion, alter the boundaries of
any election district, and may re-arrange, increase or diminish
the number thereof, and change the voting places therein.
But no change shall be made in any of the said boundaries
or voling places within thirty days next preceding any gen-
eral election, nor until notice shall have been posted for thirty
days, at the front door of the court-house, and at each voting
place. in each election district, to be affected by the said change.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
