Chap. 47.—An ACT to amend the 2nd Section of Chapter 109, of the
Code of 1878, in Relation to Escheators.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the second c
section of the one hundred and ninth chapter of the Code of }
eighteen hundred and seventy-three, be amended and re- p
enacted so as to read as follows:
“§ 2. Each escheator shall give bond in the penalty ofr
three thousand dollars, and may continue in office until re- °
moved, or until a successor is duly appointed and qualified. 2
He may be removed by the governor for misbehavior, inca- n
pacity, or neglect of official duty. The county or corporation E
court may increase or reduce the penalty of the bond in any
case, and at any time, with the assent of the attorney for 4
the commonwealth: provided, that the penalty shall not be
reduced, in any case, to less than one thousand dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
