Chap. 320.—An ACT authorizing the Auditor of Public Accounts to
sell the three Steam Tug Boats used in Collecting the Oyster Revenue
of the State.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the audi- s
tor of public accounts be and is hereby authorized to make °
sale, either for cash or upon such terms a¢ he may deem most
advantageous to the state, after giving six weeks notice, by
advertisement in at least one newspaper published in the
cities of Richmond, Norfolk and Baltimore, the three steam
tug boats belonging to the state, and heretofore used in col-
lecting the oyster revenue of the state. The auditor, in his
discretion, may sell the said tugs at private sale, but in either °
case, if, in the opinion of the auditor an adequate price can-
not be obtained, he may lease ur dispose of the same by hiring
or otherwise, until the same is sold. The auditor may re- x
ceive in payment of the purchase price, Virginia Consols, at >
their market value, or he may require the amount to be paid
in United States currency, gold or silver.
