Acts of 1865-6, in Relation to the Release of Taxes prior to the year

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section a,
sixty, chapter thrée, Acts of eighteen hundred and sixty-five %
and six, be amended and re-enacted so as-to read as follows: 1a!
“§ 61. All taxes on lands returned delinquent due the com- *
monwealth of Virginia which accrued prior to the tenth day 1,
of April, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, which have not Tr
been paid, be and the same are hereby released. And where A;
lands have heretofore been returned delinquent for the non-
payment of taxes accruing before the tenth day of April, a:
eighteen hundred and sixty-five, such taxes are hereby re- ®
leased, whether the lands so returned have been purchased or
by the commonwealth or not: provided, that the owner or ft,
claimant thereof pay to the auditor of public accounts, or the
treasurer of the county wherein the said land lies, the taxes
due thereon, which have accrued since the tenth day of April
eighteen hundred and sixty-fivo, within two years from the
passage of this act: apd provided further, that nothing in
_ section shall release delinquent taxes against non-regi.
