Chap. 312.—An ACT Prescribing the manner in which Records for the
Supreme Court of Appeals shall be Printed, and Providing for Letting
the Same to Contract.
Approved April 80, 1874.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the clerks c
of the supreme court of appeals at Richmond, Staunton, Win- 2
chester and Wytheville, shall, in the month of June, in the &
year eighteen hundred and seventy-four, and annually there- “
after, in the same month, solicit proposals by advertising in
some newspaper published-in their respective localities, for
the printing, for one year, of such records of courts as may
be required, under existing laws, to be printed for the use of
the supreme court of appeals, in determining cases of appeal.
' 2. The said proposals shall state the amount per page of v
fifteen hundred ems, small pica type, and shall include the “
paper, printing, binding, and a neat cover with the style of
the case, and the court from which the record comes, neatly
printed thereon. .
3. The said clerks shall award the contracts for said print- c
ang to the lowest responsible bidders in their respective ™
localities, and shall take from them bond, with ample security, |
in a penalty double the amount of the work to be executed,
the same to be ascertained by the amount of the preceding
year’s work. The mode of certifying and paying accounts c
for said printing, shall be as now prescribed by law. m
4. All acts and parts of acts in conflict with the provisions R
of this act are hereby repealed. al
5. This act shall be in force from its passage. fe)
