Chap. 311.—JOINT RESOLUTION in regard to a further adjustment
of the Debt of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Approved April 30, 1874

1. Resolved by the general assembly, That the governor 6
of this commonwealth, during the recess of the general as- 2
sembly, be requested to call a conference of the creditors of ¢
the state of Virginia; and that he and the treasurer are re- ¢
spectfully requested to confer with said creditors, looking to?
a further adjustment of the state debt, upon a basis fair and =
equitable alike to the state and its creditors; and report the §
result of said conference to the next general assembly, with *
such recommendations as they may deem advisable.

2. This act shall take effect from its passage. C
