Chap. 285.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the 2d Section of an Act
approved February 11th, 1874, entitled an Act to Prevent Obsetruct-
ing with Timber, or rendering Foul the Water Courses of this State.
Approved April 29, 1874.
1. Be it enacted by the genera assembly, That the second
section of an act approved February eleventh, eighteen hun-
dred and seventy-four, entitled an act to prevent the obstruc-
tion with timber, or rendering foul the water courses of this
state, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
“§ 2. Any person who sball, knowingly and wilfully cast
any dead animals, or any other noxious substance or matter,
or what is commonly known as bait, into any of the water
courses of this state above tide-water, by which the fish of
the @ame shall be destroyed, or the health of the citizens
along said water courses be imperilled, shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined
not less than ten nor more than fifty dollars.”
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
