Chap. 282.—An ACT to authorize John W. Ames, of Nansemond
County, to erect a Pier or Wharf on Nansemond River.

Approved April 20, 1874.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Jom
John W. Ames, of the county of Nansemond, be authorized
to erect a pier or wharf near the mouth of Bennett's creek, neat
where it empties into the Nansemond river in said county, emp
‘but not to obstruct navigation, for the purpose of shipping Nes
produce and merchandise to and from the same for himself "”°
or others, and may charge for the same such sum as the
county court of Nansemond may allow.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage, and shall be com
subject to modification or repeal at the pleasure of the gen- 14"
eral assembly. lata
