Chap. 262.—An ACT incorporaring The Richmond Caledonian Club
of the city of Richmond, Virginia.
Approved April 28, 1874.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That Gilbert
Phillips, Alexander Dick, Peter Donald, Frank Stevenson,
Jobn Beatie, and such others as may be associated with them,
shall be and are hereby incorporated and made a body poiiz
and corporate, under the name and style of The Richmc>:
Caledonian Club, for the purpose of preserving the anciett
literature and costumes, and the encouragement and practic:
of the ancient games of Scotland.
2. The said corporation shall have power to make 2!
adopt a constitution and by-laws, rules and regulations fx
the admission and expulsion of its members and their gc- |
ernment, the election of its officers, and to define their dutia !
and for the safekeeping and protection of its property sz:
funds, and from time to time to alter or repeal such con*-
tution, by-laws, rules and regulations: provided, that the
same be not inconsistent with the constitution and laws ¢
the state of Virginia.
3. The said corporation may purchase and hold or leaz
any real or personal estate not to exceed ten thousand d:-
lars in value.
