Chap. 226.—An ACT to provide Counsel to appear before the Arbitra-
tors on the Boundary. between this State and Maryland, and making
an Appropriation to pay the expenses of said Arbitration.
Approved April 22, 1874.
Whereas, an act has been passed by the general assembly
for submitting the question of the true line of boundary be-
tween this state and Maryland, to the arbitrament and award
of the honorable Jeremiah S. Black, honorable William A.
Graham, and a third person, to be selected by them; and
whereas, it is provided by said act that Virginia shall have
the right to be represented by counsel before said arbitra-
tors: Now,
‘1. Be it enacted, That the attorney general of this state
shall represent Virginia, as counsel, before said arbitrators;
and should the governor deem it advisable to employ assis-
tant counsel, then he shall associate with the attorney gen-
eral, for that purpose, such person as to him may seem
proper. .
2. For the purposes of this act, and to defray the charges
that may be incurred under the act first herein referred to,
five thousand dollars are hereby appropriated, out of any mo-
ney in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be ‘paid,
or so much thereof as may be necessary, on the order of the
governor. .
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
