Chap. 164.—An ACT to Authorize the Council of Norfolk City to use,
hold, sell, lease and dispose of a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land, in
Norfolk County, belonging to said City.

Whereas, under an act of the general assembly, entitled
an ast to authorize the city of Norfolk to purchase land for
the purposes of an agricultural fair, passed January thirty-
first, eighteen hundred and fifty-four, the said city of Nor-
folk has purchased, and now holds a piece or parcel of land,
lying in Norfolk county, for the purposes therein mentioned,
commonly known as the Old Fair Grounds; and whereas, the
said parcel of land is no longer used for such purposes, and
the councils of said city desire to sell, lease, hold, use and
dispose of the same, for such other purposes as they may deem
expedient for the interests of the city; now, therefore,
T. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the select
and common councils of the city of Norfolk be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to use, hold, sell, lease and
dispose of the said parcel of land for the purposes of an agri-
cultural collegd, or for such other purposes as the said coun-
cils may deem proper.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
