Chap. 152.—-An ACT to provide for a General Registration of the Vo-
ters of the City of Petersburg.
Approved April 9, 1874.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That each regis-
trar ot the city of Petersburg shall, on the fourth Tuesday
in April, eighteen hundred and seventy-four, proceed to re-
gister the names of all qualified voters of his ward, who, ac-
cording to law are entitled to registration, giving legal notice
of the time and place thereof for at least ten days before
commencing such registration. Said registrars shall com-
plete said registration within seven days from the time of

mmencing the same. Immediately after completing said
gistration, said registrars shall cause to be posted at three z
*more public places in their wards, written or printed lists *
‘all persons admitted by them to registration." b
2. Said registration shall have the same effect and be deemed kB
juivalent to a general registration of the voters of said city *
ander the general laws heretofore adopted in regard to the
‘gistration of voters, and shall be made, revised, altered and
nended in the modes prescribed in such laws.
3. All acts and parts of acts in conflict with the provisions RB
' the act are hereby repealed. a
4. This act shall be in force from its passage. c
