Chap. 137.—An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 41 of Chapter 86,
Code of 1878, in Relation to Inspections,
Approved April 2, 1874. ° Chapter
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section relative
forty-one, chapter eighty-six, Code of eighteen hundred and Porat
seventy-three, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as spection
follows: 1878, p.
“§ 41. If any person shall export, or put on board of any Export
a
vessel for exportation, in any of the cities.or towns on tide- ttt
water in this state, or sell or offer to sell any fish in the cities prohib
or towns aforesaid, without the same having been inspected
as required by law, he shall forfeit two dollars for each bar-
i; rel, cask or box so exported or offered for sale. Nothing in
,. the preceding section shall be construed to prevent the sell-
n ing of fish in a town having less than two thousand inhabi-
t tants, or to prevent the exportation of fish, if the same be
condemned, and the mark, brand or certificate of condemna-
tion accompany the same.”
at 2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
