Chap. 134.—An ACT to Prescribe the Times for Holding the Terms of
the Circuit Courts of this Commonwealth, and to Repeal the 15th
section of the 155th chapter of the Code of 1878, which Authorizes
the Judges of said Courts to fix said Terms.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the circuit
courts of this state shall hold their terms hereafter at the
times hereinafter specified, to-wit:
In the first judicial circuit.
City of Portsmouth—On the fifteenth day of January and
fifteenth day of July.
County of Princess Anne—On the twenty-fifth day of Jan-
uary, twelfth of May, and twenty-second of September.
, Ni ansemond—On the first of February, nineteenth of May,
and twenty-ninth of September.
Isle of Wight—On the eighth of February, twenty-sixth

17. The fifteenth section of the one hundred and fifty-fifth
chapter of the Code of eighteen hundred and seventy-three,
authorizing the judges of the circuit courts to fix the time
for holding the terms of said courts, shall be repealed on and
after the day on which this act takes effect in each county of
the state.
18. This act shall take effect in each county in the state
on the day after the last day of the first term of the circuit
court for such county held in the year eighteen hundred and
seventy-four, in pursuance of section fifteen of chapter one
hundred and fifty-five of the Code of eighteen hundred and
seventy-three: provided, thatif in any county the first term
fixed under this act would fall during the continuance of, or
subsequent to the first term of the circuit court of such county
held in the year eighteen hundred and seventy-four, in pur-
suance of the said section, then this act shall take effect as
to such county on the day preceding the day fixed for the
second term for such county under this act.
