Chap. 121.—An ACT for the Relief of the Estate of William M. Hume,
deceased, late Sheriff of Fauquier, and his Sureties.

Buretiesot Wm. 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
M. Hume,late the auditor of public accounts be and he is hereby authorized
quier, autho- and directed to receive from Josoph H. Nelson, administrs-
couponsinais- tor of William M. Hume, deceased, late sheriff of Fauquier
charge of iabil- county, or any of his sureties as such sheriff, consolidated
sheriff to state COUPON bonds of the state of Virginia, the coupons of which
EoD axes are receivable in payment of taxes, to the amount of six
thousand seven hundred and forty-six dollars and thirty-five
cents, in full satisfaction and discharge of the liability of_said
Hume (and his sureties) for a like amount on accoust ot
taxes and public revenues for the year cighteen hundred and
seventy. And to the extent that any surety may contribute
to the payment of said amount, such payment shall consti-
tute a charge upon the estate of said William M. Hume, de-
ceased, if any, and be paid out of the assets, if any, in the
hands of his personal representative; and said sureties, as
amongst themselves, shall be liable to account, one to the
other, upon the legal principle of contribution.
Commencement 2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
