CHAPTER 469

An Act to amend Chapter 219 of the Acts of Assembly, 1960, approved
March 9, 1960, which provided a charter for the city of South Boston,
by adding a section numbered 10, relating to the city school board.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That Chapter 219 of the Acts of Assembly, 1960, approved March 9,
1960, be amended by adding a section numbered 10 as follows:
10. On and after July one, nineteen hundred sixty-eight, the city
he ite shall consist of five trustees, who shall be qualified voters of
e city.

On or before July one, nineteen hundred sixty-eight, the council shall
elect two trustees to serve three-year terms, two trustees to serve two-
year terms, and one trustee to serve a one-year term. Thereafter, all terms
shall be for three years. Any vacancy occurring in the membership of the
school board shall be filled by the council for the unexpired term.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
