CHAPTER 451
An Act to amend and reenact § 16.1-154 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to records, reports and rules of procedures in courts not of record.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1, That § 16.1-154 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 16.1-154. The judge, after consultation with the Director, may
determine the form and character of the records of the court. Jt shall
be the duty of the Judge to furnish the Director such reports and other
statistical data relating to the court’s operation as may be required by
the Director. The judge may adopt and publish rules not in violation of
law to regulate proceedings before his court and the conduct of the officers
and employees of the court, which rules shall be construed and enforced
liberally in furtherance of the remedial purposes of this chapter. In so
far as is practicable all such records and rules shall be uniform through-
out the State.
