CHAPTER 289

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
58-792.5, relating to extension of time for completion of general re-
assessment an certain counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
58-792.5, as follows:

§ 58-792.5. Notwithstanding the provisions of § 58-792, the judge
of the circuit court of any county having a population of more than sixteen
thousand but less than sixteen thousand seven hundred and in which are
located two incorporated cities, or of any county having a population of
more than twenty-five thousand but less than twenty-five thousand eight
hundred twenty, may, for good cause shown, extend the time for complet-
ing the reassessment and complying with the provisions of such section
for a period of not exceeding four months from December thirty-one of
the year of such reassessment.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
