CHAPTER 123

An Act to amend and reenact § 19.1-114, as amended, of the Code of
Virginia, relating to appointment of a batl commissioner for counties
and certain cities.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 19.1-114, as amended, of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:

§ 19.1-114. Appointment of a bail commissioner for counties and
certain cities.—The circuit court of each county and the circuit court
of each city having a population of not less than eighty thousand but not
more than eighty-six thousand which city adjoins a city having a popula-
tion of more than two hundred thousand, or the circuit court of any city
which has a population of more than five thousand two hundred sixty but
less than five thousand three hundred fifty, or the judge thereof in vaca-
tion, shall appoint one or more of the commissioners in chancery of such
court, bail commissioners for such county or city. Such court or judge may
appoint a justice of the peace to serve as a bail commissioner for such
county or city.
