An ACT to provide that inquests over the bodies of persons who meet with sudden, violent, unnatural or suspicious death, or who die without medical attention, where the death, or the injury which resulted in death, occurred in Henrico county and the dead body, or the person so injured, is taken to any morgue, hospital or other place in the city of Richmond, shall be held by the coroner of said county.
1936
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 1715, 1716, 1718, 1719, 1720, 1721, 1722, 1723, 1724, 1725 and 1726 of the Code of Virginia, 1919, as heretofore amended, and to add eleven new sections to the Code of Virginia, to be known and designated as sections 1715 (1), 1719-a, 1720-a, 1720-b, 1720-c, 1721-a, 1721-b, 1724-a, 1726-a, 1726-b and 1726-c, relating to the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, changing the name of said board from State Board of Embalming to State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors of Virginia, providing for the appointment and terms of members of said board, for the qualification of said members as to how said members shall qualify, for the meetings of said board, the election of officers of said board, for the adoption of rules and regulations by said board, for the establishment and conduct of schools; fixing the per diem of the members of said board, the compensation of its officers; prescribing the powers and duties of said board; authorizing the appointment of an inspector and providing for his authority and duties; providing for the qualification of applicants for a license, examination and licensing of embalmers, funeral directors and assistant funeral directors and the fees therefor; to prohibit false statements by applicants; to prohibit bribery and certain deceptive, misleading, improbable and unethical advertising, and to prescribe penalties for the violation thereof; to require a license of persons employed by firms and corporations; to provide for the refusal, suspension or revocation of licenses and for appeals therefrom; to prohibit certain transactions between funeral directors and embalmers and burial associations and to provide penalties for the violation thereof; to require all funds collected by the State board to be paid into the State treasury, there to be retained until appropriated by law; to prescribe what shall constitute violations of this chapter and the penalties therefor; to prescribe certain definitions and to authorize the board to adopt certain rules and regulations; to provide for certain exceptions and exclusions from the act; and to declare each part of this act severable; and to repeal section 1717 of the Code of Virginia relating to membership of the State Board of Health.

An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 1569 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to the duties of undertakers, and to the removal, transportation and burial of bodies of dead persons, and to repeal Section 1728 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the transportation of the bodies of dead persons.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 4743 of the Code of Virginia, relating to casting dead animals into a road, so as to make it unlawful to transport a dead animal along a public road or street except in a closed container or vehicle from which no odor can escape, and to prescribe penalties for violations thereof.

An ACT to revise the laws of Virginia with respect to post-mortem examinations, and to that end to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new chapter numbered 190-A and 15 new sections numbered 4806-a to 4806-0, both inclusive, creating a Commission on Post-Mortem Examinations and prescribing its powers, duties and functions; to provide for the appointment of a Chief Medical Examiner, and to prescribe his powers and duties with respect to post-mortem examinations and investigations ; to provide for the dis- position of certain dead bodies and of any property or estate of such deceased persons; to amend Section 1727, as amended, of the Code of Virginia relating to embalming dead bodies, and Sections 2817 and 2821 of said Code relating to the service of process and summons by coroners and others and the appoint- ment of criers for courts; and to repeal Sections 2815, 2818 and 2819 of the Code of Virginia relating to coroners, Chapter 190 of the Code of Virginia relating to coroners and coroner’s inquests, and Chapter 214 of the Acts of Assembly of 1932 relating to disposition by coroners of money or property of deceased persons.

An ACT to amend and reenact Section 4743 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, in relation to the disposal of certain maimed, diseased, disabled and infirm animals, and the bodies of dead animals.
1958
AN ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 8-666.1, so as to regulate transportation of animal carcasses by certain persons and to prescribe penalties for violation, and to repeal § 38-295 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the same matters.
AN ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 82-70.1, so as to prohibit casting dead animals into roads, or suffering dead animals to remain unburied; to prohibit leaving any maimed, diseased or disabled animal in any public way or place; and to prescribe penalties for violation; and to repeal § 83-294 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the same matters.

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Chapter 22 of Title 8, an article numbered 1.1, consisting of sections numbered 3-588.1 through 8-583.8, providing for the construction of disposal pits and the erection of incinerators for the disposal of dead poultry; defining terms; requiring the use of such disposal pits and incinerators and providing penalties for the failure to use such disposal pits and incinerators.
